Premium, American-milled putters
Our Story
It all started with a high school engineering project, and sprouted into a small family-run business years later. As a high school senior in 2007, Derek decided to take a run at the local science and engineering fair. He chose to submit a novel mallet putter design. It was something that was interesting, functional, and challenging - all items a budding engineer seeks in their work. Plus, it didn't hurt that his father, Les, is a golf nut and wanted something different to put into his bag. Derek further refined the physics and aesthetics of the design to prepare his submission, even 3D printing a prototype, which was relatively unheard of to most people back in 2007. The design claimed a first prize, subliminally putting the notion in our heads that we could make a viable putter that players seek to use.
Over the years, that idea gained traction. A limited run of mallets was prototyped out-of-house while the boys were chasing girls in college. Those mallets quickly became a favorite of friends and family alike. Fast forward a few years and the team decided to make a legitimate run at this. This time they decided to build a more traditional blade style putter that is innovative, high performing, and customizable to fit a player's needs. After a year of testing and peer feedback with multiple enhancements, the team knew they were onto something special.
With the joint efforts of Derek, Les, and Shawn, please welcome Klopp Designs. We strive to reintroduce American milled putters back into golf to give golfers the high quality putters they deserve to help elevate their game to the next level.
